Soy vs. Paraffin

While paraffin wax (commonly used in mass-market candles) burns hotter and releases fragrance more quickly, there are important differences to consider:

• Soy burns cleaner with minimal soot

• Paraffin burns hotter, releasing more soot and airborne chemicals

• Soy provides a soft, steady, natural fragrance throw

• Paraffin’s intense heat can overwhelm the olfactory nerve, causing temporary desensitization — which can make candles seem to “fade” even while still burning

Understanding Fragrance Throw

Each 8 oz candle is poured at the maximum safe fragrance load. Soy wax naturally offers a light to moderate throw, ideal for:
